Black Business Women
Black business women have generated more than $30 billion in nationwide sales between the years of 2002 and 2008. Their number increased by 20 percent during that time – which was almost three times as fast as that witnessed in other companies.
Many of these feminine Black business owners are motivated into the business world by the challenge of economics in today’s world as well as the racial and gender glass ceilings that exist. It is a challenge that has yet to be matched but Black business in general and Black women in specific are slowly breaking through the roof.
There is still a ways to go yet. Black business owners average an annual revenue of $45,000 unlike those of Black males who garner $110,000 a year and white women, who see $160,000 in sales a year. They are beginning to get more support and alliances through such organizations as the Black Business Builders Club (BBC).
Black Business Women Set a New Pace
Black business owners are learning through their feminine members the art of truly teaching the people to fish. Through the nurturing qualities of the black business woman, more Black business owners are appreciating the ability to learn how to fish on their own. They are also learning how to replenish the fish so that there continues to be enough for everyone. A reciprocal pace of which it would behoove the world at large to pay attention. The Black Business Builders Club, in turn, provides a nurturing environment as a black business association which provides safe a safe environment to enable black business women to soar.
